Es handelt sich um W. F. Bachs Antrittskantate in Halle, Aufführung 12. Mai 1746. An der Niederschrift war J. C. Altnickol teilweise beteiligt (Satz 1, Trompeten und Satz 5a).
Nach dem untextierten Abschlusschoral in fis-Moll (Melodie "Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ"), zwei weitere untextierte Choralsätze nach den Melodien "Jesu, meine Freude" (in c-Moll) und "Nun freut euch, lieben Christen gmein" (in B-Dur).
Die Quelle ist nachgewiesen im Katalog Poelchaus von 1832 auf f. 24r (Nr. 1h). Sie bildet den achten und letzten Teil eines Konvolutbands der Sammlung Poelchau mit insgesamt 8 Kirchenstücken und einem Arienfragment W. F. Bachs, vgl. Collection.
