31 Chansons
Only one part book (S, of 16 fols.) survives of an original set presumably of four. HeartzA 1969, speculates that the fifteen duos mentioned in the title page occupied the fourth part book. According to ChapmanP 1968, p. 78, no. 128, the duos included:, 1. Ayes pitié, 2. Ung grand plaisir Cupido me donna, 3. Vivre ne puis, The superius part books contains only music a 3. For further information, see EitnerB 1877, HeartzA 1969, and Heartz 1971, who includes a list of contents, with concordances. The attributions of many compositions in this anthology to Janequin, made in 1541|13, are unreliable.
