Die Partitur ist unvollständig geblieben. Das Tenorrezitativ (Satz 4) ist ohne Text überliefert. Auf den anschließenden Schlusschoral wird lediglich hingewiesen.
Die Kantate steht im Parodieverhältnis zu einer verschollenen Kantate zum Palmsonntag (vgl. Titel).
Die Quelle ist nachgewiesen im Katalog Poelchaus von 1832 auf f. 24r (Nr. 1c). Sie bildet den dritten Teil eines Konvolutbands der Sammlung Poelchau mit insgesamt 8 Kirchenstücken und einem Arienfragment W. F. Bachs, vgl. Collection.
