Notes: Book of anthems and metrical psalms, copied stratigraphically (across the page opening) in score. The arrangements of metrical psalms are copied without sung text. Front paste-down reads: 'Joseph Farmer His Book Jan[ua]ry 28 1824'. On f. 54v are inscriptions including 'George Pink, Bramley, Hampshire' and ' Charles Parsons, Bramley, Hampshire'. There are incomplete indexes of the contents on f. 1v and f. 56v. Folio 20r is entitled 'a drab', and contains a recipe for dyes reading: 'Old fustick one pound boyled in 4 quarts of water one q[u]arter of a pound of Copperes 8 a ounces blue black 1 ad to this one quart saw dust will make a olive gree[n] 1 ad half a pound of log wood make a gray ad to each of these collers a tea cup of alom liqu[or?] for a drab bleach your skins for a olive without it'.
