Die Kanons sind jeweils auf einem System ohne Text mit Signum Congruentiae wiedergegeben, die meisten im C-1-Schlüssel, nur Canon 18 im G-2-Schlüssel. Bei den 7-12stimmigen Kanons (Nr. 31-35) sind weitere Stimmen unter der Überschrift "Repete ab initio" im C-3-, bzw. bei Nr. 35 im C-2- und C-3- Schlüssel abgedruckt.
Der Praxis der Zeit folgend waren die Kanons zum Singen auf Solmisationssilben im Unterricht gedacht.
